Journey from the cultural heart of Fes to the vibrant soul of Marrakech on a 7-day adventure through Morocco’s most iconic landscapes. From camel rides in the Sahara Desert to canyon walks in the Dades Gorges, each day brings a new experience. Discover ancient kasbahs, meet desert nomads, and sleep beneath the stars.
Welcome to the imperial city of Fes, one of the oldest and most vibrant cities in North Africa. Upon arrival at the airport or train station, you’ll be transferred to your riad or hotel in the medina. The rest of the day is yours to relax, enjoy Moroccan mint tea, and soak in the authentic atmosphere. Get lost (on purpose!) in the winding alleys or admire the ancient city walls glowing at sunset.
After breakfast, embark on a full-day guided tour of Fes, starting with the medina — a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the Al Quaraouiyine Mosque and University, the Medersa Bou Inania, and the colorful Chouara tanneries. Walk through narrow souks bursting with carpets, ceramics, spices, and metalwork. See the Royal Palace gates, stroll through the Jewish Quarter (Mellah), and finish the tour with panoramic views from the Borj Nord fortress. Overnight in Fes.
Today, leave Fes and journey through the stunning Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in Ifrane, a town that looks more Swiss than Moroccan, and continue to the cedar forests of Azrou, where you may spot wild macaques. Drive past volcanic rock fields and nomadic sheep herders before descending into the lush, palm-filled Ziz Valley. By late afternoon, reach the edge of the Sahara in Merzouga. Switch to camels and ride into the dunes of Erg Chebbi just before sunset. Arrive at your Berber desert camp, enjoy a traditional dinner, and relax under a sky full of stars.
Wake early to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the dunes, then return to camp for breakfast. Today, enjoy a full exploration of the Merzouga region: visit Khamlia village to hear Gnawa spiritual music, explore the black volcanic rock formations, visit nomadic families living in traditional tents, and relax by the seasonal Lake Dayet Srij (home to desert flamingos when full). Optional quad biking or sandboarding available. Return to the camp or desert lodge for a second night of desert peace and starlit skies.
After breakfast, depart the desert and head west toward the mountains. Stop in Rissani, once the seat of ancient Sijilmassa, and continue to the mighty Todra Gorge, a dramatic canyon with towering rock walls that attract climbers and nature lovers. Enjoy a short walk through the gorge before following the scenic road to the Dades Valley. Pass through Berber villages, rose plantations, and kasbahs before arriving in the Dades Gorges, where you’ll stay overnight in a cozy guesthouse or kasbah hotel carved into the red cliffs.
After breakfast, begin your journey toward Marrakech. First stop: Skoura Oasis, known for its ancient Kasbah Amridil hidden among the palms. Continue to Ouarzazate, often called the "Hollywood of Morocco," and visit local film studios (optional). Then, explore the iconic Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO-protected mud-brick fortress and filming location for Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and The Mummy. Cross the majestic Tizi n’Tichka Pass through the High Atlas Mountains, reaching Marrakech by early evening. Overnight in a traditional riad or hotel.
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast in your riad. Depending on your flight time, you may have free time to explore Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, shop in the souks, or visit the Majorelle Garden before your transfer to Marrakech Menara Airport. Your unforgettable 7-day Moroccan journey ends here — full of memories, stories, and desert magic.
