This immersive 8 days tour takes you from the cultural heart of Fes to the colorful soul of Marrakech, weaving through the blue charm of Chefchaouen, the ancient glory of Volubilis, the golden dunes of Merzouga, and the rugged beauty of the Atlas Mountains. It’s the perfect mix of history, culture, nature, and desert magic.
Upon arrival in Fes, you'll be greeted by your driver and transferred to your traditional riad or hotel in the medina. This is your time to settle in and absorb the city’s rhythm — the call to prayer, the scent of spices, and the hum of daily life in one of Morocco’s most spiritual cities.
Explore one of the world’s oldest medinas with a certified local guide. Visit the Al Quaraouiyine University (the oldest in the world), the elegant Bou Inania Madrasa, and the iconic Chouara Tanneries. Stroll through narrow alleys filled with artisans, spice markets, and traditional workshops. You’ll also stop at the Royal Palace, the Mellah (Jewish Quarter), and end with a panoramic view from the Borj Nord fortress.
After breakfast, travel north to the blue city of Chefchaouen, nestled in the Rif Mountains. The drive offers spectacular scenery and calm mountain air. Upon arrival, take your time to explore the charming blue-painted streets, hike to the Spanish Mosque viewpoint, and enjoy the relaxed pace of this tranquil town. Overnight in a traditional guesthouse or riad.
Leave Chefchaouen and head south to Volubilis, Morocco’s best-preserved Roman site. Walk among ancient mosaics, temples, and arches with views over fertile plains. Continue to Meknes, a lesser-known imperial city, where you’ll visit Bab Mansour, Heri es-Souani, and the peaceful Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. Return to Fes for your final night in the city.
Depart Fes early and drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in Ifrane, known for its European-style charm, and the cedar forest of Azrou, where you might meet wild monkeys. Continue through Midelt and the dramatic landscapes of the Ziz Valley, dotted with palm groves and kasbahs. Arrive in Merzouga, where your camels await for a sunset trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes. Spend the night in a desert camp with traditional music, dinner, and stargazing.
Wake early to witness the sun rise over the dunes — a truly unforgettable moment. After breakfast, explore the surrounding desert by 4x4 or camel. Visit Khamlia village to enjoy live Gnawa music, meet nomadic families, and see traditional Berber homes. You’ll also have time to relax by the oasis or try activities like sandboarding or ATV rides. Return to the camp or a desert lodge for your second night in Merzouga.
After breakfast, leave the desert behind and travel west toward the spectacular Todra Gorge — a dramatic canyon carved by the Todra River. Stretch your legs with a short walk between the towering cliffs before continuing to the Dades Valley, famous for its winding roads, ancient kasbahs, and unique rock formations like the “Monkey Fingers.” Spend the night in a guesthouse or kasbah-style hotel surrounded by natural beauty.
Begin your journey to Marrakech with a stop at the legendary Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified mudbrick village and UNESCO World Heritage site, famous for films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. After exploring the ksar, continue through the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Arrive in Marrakech by late afternoon, where your driver will drop you off at your hotel or airport. End of tour.
